Just off the dining room porch is a small, shade garden. It's a quiet little space to enjoy a meal, or just relax and pull a few weeds. A chicken coop will soon be built just behind this garden, at which time it will not likely be as quiet. Perhaps we'll be rewarded with an egg or two now and then!

This metal table and four chairs, with ivy detail, was a yard sale purchase made way back in the day when people would practically give "old stuff" to anyone who'd haul it away. Otherwise known as "the good ole days".

The grass was removed from this side yard and the ivy, hosta and ferns quickly took over. Other than weeding the path here and there, it's a no maintenance garden!
"Polish Spirit" Clematis
Mister & Miss . . . Bookends. Serious birdwatchers! I got a new bike! So, this one is officially a garden planter-sculpture now!

Pssst ...... over here, behind the "Cranesbill"
Um, excuse me, you must surely be trying to get a picture of me, right?
Notice I didn't clear the leaves from last fall? That's what I meant by "no maintenance". Add Ivy to my list of favorites. There seems to be a trend here - easy and hardy!
This "solar light - wind chime" was a gift to Karla, from a group of very special ladies. She loves it! Setting up the tri-pod would have been the better way to show you how pretty it is at night (I'll have to re-take this photo soon).
I'll be back with an update as soon as I get the chicken coop started. The delay is due to the Mourning Dove nest above. A storm blew this tree over on the exact spot where the coop will be built. Before the tree could be cut and moved, this sweet, little family had taken up residence.
In the meantime, take a look at our "Butterfly Garden" on Teacup Wedding blog
